As a specialist contractor, which has been operating for more than 100 years, our mission and vision have evolved over time, but our statements remain focused on making a difference to the organisations we work with.
Our missionis to make our clients lives easier by understanding their needs, and safely delivering every project in a way which exceeds their expectations. And our vision states our overall aim to be the contractor of choice in our field of expertise.
These statements are not only vital in terms of our brand positioning in a highly competitive market, but for motivating our employees and ensuring everyone is aligned to our culture. Linked to this, are our values, which underpin how we want to work with our clients and with each other. These include enthusiasm, accuracy, consistency, care and respect plus a commitment to being on time whether that’s personally or bringing forward a client’s project.
Recognising the importance of communicating these messages, we recently organised an event involving our entire workforce. From team building exercises through to listening to insights on health and safety from our specialist advisor, the day involved a range of activities and discussions all linked to what we stand for and aimed at keeping our people invested in what we want to achieve.
We believe that explaining both the why and the how is crucial to our future success. A mission and vision shouldn’t just say the right things, it should filter through a company’s strategy and culture. The world of work may be changing at a phenomenal rate, but we must remember our core purpose and guide our people accordingly. In doing so, we can work more effectively with each other and our clients, bringing benefits to all parties.
