How did you get into construction?
As a member of the LST family business, which has been in operation for 125 years, construction is all I have ever known. As I had a passion for construction from an early age it was inevitable that I’d forge a career in the sector and that’s seen me work for LST now for two decades.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Construction can be really challenging, especially when working on operational healthcare facilities. However, by focusing on making our clients lives easier and maintaining our Safety in Focus moto we are proud to have many very positive recommendations from clients on some of the most demanding projects in the South of England.
What’s been your biggest achievement / proudest moment at LST?
There is nothing better than seeing Team LST rise to every challenge and exceed the expectations of our clients. Being able to help our staff achieve this makes me proud every day and provides a great experience for anyone that works with us.
What skills do you need to do your role?
All the skills that form part of LST’s core values - Enthusiasm, Accuracy, On-time, Consistency, Care and Respect.
What advice would you give to others who want to be in your position?
Have a clear vision and support those around you. If you make sure your people get what they want and deserve, then you’ll also achieve your goals.
Tell us one thing most people don’t know about you?
I like to treat everyone of our staff as part of my extended family – Seeing them positive, happy at work and hitting their goals is what gets me out of bed in the morning!
