What do you enjoy most about your job so far?
I really enjoy the diversity of my role. From day to day, I can be required to carry out a vast range of tasks and that keeps work exciting. My job is also very rewarding as I get the chance to play a key role in creating buildings that people can inhabit, use and enjoy for many years to come.
Can you describe a typical day?
A typical day starts with a coffee, followed by completing any necessary project admin, for example permits to work, risk and method statements and daily diary requirements. Maintaining health and safety aspects is vital too, ensuring anyone working for LST is protected. This requires regular inspections and checks ensuring our construction sites run safely and efficiently.
Why is LST a great place to work?
Although I’ve not been with the company for very long, it’s clear that everyone who works for LST has really positive relationships with their colleagues. Great communication within the business helps to achieve this.
Have you done anything in your career that you’re particularly proud of?
It’s difficult to pinpoint one particular thing, but I’m confident the project I’m currently working on will be a career highlight. It poses many challenges and opportunities including the chance to increase my knowledge of a new industry so once completed, it will be a proud achievement for me.
Tell us something people may not know about you
People may be surprised to hear that I was an aspiring diver that trained alongside members of the GB team. I have also performed in Oliver in the West End theatre in London and my voice was used in the last ever Harry Potter film.
