Bloor Homes, in conjunction with Linden Homes are involved in a new housing development in Fair Oak, Eastleigh. Part of the criteria for the development is a new community centre, which we were delighted to be appointed for, working alongside architects Kendall Kingscott.
The project involved the design and construction of the community centre – from the concrete foundations to the curved top windows. All in accordance with the planning permission that had been attained, the client’s requirements and the budget that was set.
With a completion date of December 2017, we’re well underway and started on site back in March. It’s starting to feel like progress is quickly being made, now the concrete foundations are in place and the steel frame is going up…
A complete structural, mechanical and electrical design was required along with full building regs approval. We also completed a soil and geotechnical survey to determine how the foundations would be designed.
Once finished the community centre will house a nursery, badminton court and sports hall, with landscaping outside and large car parking area. The design and build of this community centre has led to another successful acquisition to work on the Boorley Green Community Centre, through Bovis Homes – who are also involved in creating new and affordable housing in the Eastleigh area.
