LST successfully delivered a major refurbishment of the Stour Centre in Ashford, transforming the facility into a modern, inclusive space focused on improving health, wellbeing, and community engagement.

Appointed on a design-and-build basis, LST completed the project within a tight 27-week programme, delivering high-quality results within a multi-million-pound budget.

The existing centre was fully modernised, with the addition of a new soft play area and interactive pool features to create a more family-friendly environment. Significant upgrades were also made to the building envelope, including new curtain walling, external windows, and doors, enhancing both the building’s appearance and energy efficiency.

Inside, the reception area was reconfigured to improve flow and usability, featuring new turnstiles and a refreshed café space to create a welcoming entrance experience.

The gym area was extended to offer a broader range of fitness options, with dedicated rooms for spin classes, aerobics, and circuit training, supporting more flexible and varied use by members.

Behind the scenes, LST carried out a full replacement of the building’s mechanical and electrical systems, including new distribution boards and air conditioning units, ensuring the facility meets modern performance and compliance standards.

The project is a clear example of LST’s ability to deliver complex leisure refurbishments efficiently, safely, and to a high standard—breathing new life into community spaces that serve the public every day.
