LST Projects successfully delivered a new purpose-built boarding house at Rikkyo School in Rudgwick, providing modern accommodation for 56 students, alongside two housemaster flats.

The new building includes bedrooms, shower and bathroom facilities, communal living areas, study spaces and staff accommodation, creating a comfortable and practical environment for students and staff.

Constructed using a structural steel frame, steel framing system and precast upper floors, the building features a combination of brickwork and timber-effect cladding, providing a contemporary finish that complements the school surroundings.

The project also included comprehensive mechanical, electrical and public health installations, incorporating heating, ventilation, lighting, fire safety systems and domestic water services. External improvements included new drainage infrastructure, stormwater attenuation ponds, hard landscaping and access routes.

With construction taking place within a live school environment, careful planning and close collaboration with the school were essential to maintaining safety, minimising disruption and meeting key programme deadlines.

The completed development has increased the school's boarding capacity and provided high-quality accommodation, supporting the continued development of its facilities.
