The £2m project was carried out during the Covid-19 lockdown from September 2020 – January 2021.
In the pool area, LST installed a new flume as well as water play equipment. The poolside was revamped with new tiling and fittings, including handrails and steps, and wall and ceiling finishes were refreshed. An external glazed façade was replaced, and the changing area completely refurbished.
LST created new facilities for the disabled and more space for families. New walls, floors, ceilings finishes, and floor drainage were implemented as well as new cubicles and lockers.
LST was also responsible for the M&E solution, which saw the team replace an air handling unit and improve energy efficiency with new LED lighting throughout the leisure centre.
The refurbishment was designed by architects Arkon Associates and Clarkson Alliance were responsible for project and cost management.
“I would like to thank LST for their hard work in delivering this project under exceptional circumstances. The months were tough, but the results speak for themselves.”
