This project transformed changing rooms dating back to 1994 when the swimming pool was originally built.
Extensive renovations saw the male and female changing rooms become a ‘village change’ area to make the best use of space. A total of 49 changing cubicles were incorporated into one area ranging size for individuals as well as families. A further five cubicles next to the learner pool were refurbished along with the shower area. The toilets and accessible changing facility were also upgraded.
As part of the project, LST delivered arrange of measures to improve energy efficiency at the leisure centre. The new changing rooms benefit from LED lighting, an updated air circulation system and energy efficient showers. Solar panels were installed on the roof of the swimming pool building.
The swimming pool remained open during the upgrade to ensure the local community could still use the facilities.
