Corporate & Social Responsibility
We have a responsibility to minimise our environmental impact and make a positive contribution to our local communities. We achieve this through the buildings we create, our construction processes, and the people we employ.
In 2023, LST Projects became a certified Carbon Neutral Business. To achieve the certification, we partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to measure our carbon emissions and offset them through internationally certified projects.
As well as offsetting, and maintaining our carbon neutral status, our aim is to measure and reduce our emissions every year to make sure we continuously improve.
Committed to sustainable construction, we source timber from sustainably managed forests as part of the widely-shared goal of Zero Net Deforestation.
Becoming a carbon-neutral business allows us to take meaningful action to protect the environment. Partnering with Carbon Neutral Britain, we’ve independently measured our emissions and are offsetting them through global sustainability projects. By acting now, we can help create a healthier planet before climate change becomes irreversible and therefore we are committed to measuring, reducing, and improving our impact every year.

Supporting Local Charities and Community Projects
Giving back to the community is important to us. Whether through fundraising, volunteering, or direct donations, we support a range of local causes. Every time a customer completes a project feedback form, we donate £50 to a charity of their choice. In addition, our team regularly volunteers their time to support local projects, from improving community spaces to clearing woodland trails for the Crawley District Beaver Scouts.
During the festive season, we focused on helping those in need. At the end of 2024, we donated a selection of toys to Dorchester County Hospital ranging from colouring books and jigsaws to trucks and board games. The gifts were hand-delivered to the children’s ward by LST team members. We then visited Southampton General Hospital, supporting the work of Southampton Hospitals Charity. Here, we donated gifts to elderly patients who tend to face Christmas with limited support and can be forgotten about at this time of year.
Our hope is to create a positive impact in the communities we work in, supporting education, volunteering, charitable initiatives, and sustainable development.

International Support for Sustainable Development
Beyond our local community, we are proud to support Cameroon Catalyst, a charity co-founded by our Sales & Estimating Director, Patrick Mballa. The organisation works to improve infrastructure in remote villages, delivering essential projects that enhance access to clean water, sanitation, and healthcare.
One of the most significant recent initiatives has been the introduction of a maternal health programme, which is helping to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in Cameroon. Through funding, essential medical equipment is now available, ensuring safer pregnancies and births for women in remote communities.
Our latest collaboration saw students from Southampton University, Birmingham University, and Imperial College London install a rainwater harvesting system to supply clean drinking water to schools and hospitals. A solar-powered water pump system was also introduced to improve access to fresh water, alongside sanitation and drainage solutions to help prevent the spread of disease.
Looking ahead, Cameroon Catalyst is developing a mobile clinic that will allow medical professionals to reach communities that currently lack healthcare facilities. This project will give more people access to vital treatment while also enabling UK doctors to share expertise and collaborate with local practitioners.

Mental Health and Wellbeing
We take the wellbeing of our employees seriously. Mental health support is embedded into our culture, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need. Our open-door policy encourages honest conversations, and we have trained Mental Health First Aiders who can provide support when needed. Employees can also access our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers confidential telephone counselling.
We recognise that workplace pressures can impact mental health, so we actively promote a positive work-life balance. As part of our focus on wellbeing, we run an annual sunflower-growing competition, giving our team a chance to get outside, connect with nature, and take a break from their daily routine.
Our Commitment to Social Value
Social responsibility is more than just a commitment; it’s embedded in how we work. From supporting the next generation of construction workers to investing in community initiatives, championing mental health, and driving sustainability, we are dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact.
