Our Estimating Director Patrick Mballa and QS & Procurement Manager Bradley Hill will be taking part in the Eastleigh 10km run on 24thMarch. Their aim is to raise £5,000 for Cameroon Catalyst, a student-led international development charity, which helps to deliver sustainable development in villages in the north east of Cameroon.
The money will be used to help provide drinking water for around 1,500 people in a remote village in the country.
As the co-founder of the charity, Patrick is the driving force behind a wide range of fundraising initiatives all supported by LST.
Speaking about his upcoming challenge, Patrick said: “The Eastleigh 10km run is the perfect opportunity for us to raise thousands of pounds for Cameroon Catalyst, which is involved in a variety of initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty in remote villages in Africa.
“If we hit our target, this money will be life changing for people in Cameroon, providing them with something we all take for granted – access to clean and safe drinking water.”
Bradley added: “I don’t run in my spare time, so this is a new challenge for me, but I’m really looking forward to it. With the support of our friends, families and LST colleagues, we can make a huge difference to hundreds of people living below the poverty line and who are suffering from the effects of unsafe water.”
