Inspired by the company’s 125th anniversary, each staff member is taking on a personal challenge involving 125 actions. From completing 125 press ups every weekend through to cycling daily for 125 days, a vast range of activities will be carried out until the end of August 2020.
LST is hoping its efforts will raise £5,000 for Southampton Hospitals Charity, which recently launched a fundraising appeal to support the wellbeing of staff at University Hospital Southampton (UHS).
Robert Tuffin, Commercial Director at LST said: “We have worked with UHS for many years, so wanted to show our appreciation for its frontline workers who are facing huge pressure at the moment.
“As this year marks LST’s 125th anniversary, we thought we’d use this major milestone as the theme of our charity challenge. It’s sparked lots of creative ideas, which mostly involve strenuous exercise for a few months! It’s going to be hard work, but we’re all looking forward to getting a bit fitter while raising vital funds for a very worthwhile cause.
“Several employees from our sister company, FIS Products, have also agreed to take on the challenge, so there’s a fantastic team spirit spurring everyone on.”
The money raised will help Southampton Hospitals Charity respond quickly to UHS staff requests, helping to boost morale as well as hospital workers’ physical and mental wellbeing. Donations so far have provided a wide range of equipment, products and resources including coffee machines, hand gels, iPads and psychological support.
