Designed by Lewandowski Architects, the 15-week project saw LST upgrade the 200 sq m space with a new stage area featuring bi-folding doors, fixed seating for a 160 audience, and acoustic panelling and rafts.
The hall benefits from a new audio-visual (AV) system with new speakers and stage lighting all controlled by a specialist audio-visual control desk at the rear of the hall. LST created the wall for the AV technology along with a new block-and-beam timber floor area.
LST also installed mechanical and electrical services, a new heating system, electric blinds for new aluminium windows and doors as well as storage cupboards for instruments.
Chris Taylor, Contracts Manager for LST, said: “We had to work to a very tight construction programme and in a live school environment to deliver this project. The highest standards of health and safety were paramount, especially as there was a shared access to the main school.”
