LST Projects was appointed to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment at Lord Wandsworth College, an independent boarding and day school in Hampshire. The project focused on upgrading the boarding accommodation to provide a more modern, comfortable environment for pupils.

Delivered in two key phases, the first involved transforming a large dormitory into three smaller bedrooms for students in the Junior House. The team also refurbished a washroom, upgraded communal corridors, and modernised the fire alarm system. This phase was completed by the end of August 2024, ready for the pupils' return in early September. The second phase focused on the refurbishment of a smaller dormitory and washroom.

To minimise disruption, temporary luxury shower facilities were installed, ensuring pupils could continue using the space throughout the works. The project also included the creation of four new four-bed dormitories, upgraded girls’ and boys’ washrooms, and the installation of a new hot water system.

While initial planning delays meant some works continued into term time, LST worked closely with the school, the design team, and house staff to carefully coordinate activities and manage changes quickly. One key challenge was the discovery of asbestos, which was safely handled in collaboration with specialist removal teams.

Despite these complexities, the project was successfully delivered to a high standard. The new facilities offer pupils greater comfort and privacy and support the school’s ambition to attract future students. The refurbishment sets a strong benchmark for future upgrades across the campus.
