Bishopsgate School –
Sports Hall

LST was appointed to design and build a new two-storey sports hall, featuring four badminton courts, a climbing wall, gym, and multi-purpose studio, as well as storage areas, changing facilities, and toilets.

A viewing balcony was constructed on the first floor, along with an open-plan foyer at the main entrance.

Outside, LST was responsible for the landscaping around the building, which was designed to complement the rest of the school grounds.

A large part of the contract was delivered while the school remained open, requiring us to ensure the safety of pupils and staff while minimising disruption.

Careful planning and clear communication were essential to manage the safe movement of construction vehicles, while also considering the needs of local residents.

The 12-month project was completed during lockdown and successfully handed over in time for the new school year in September 2020.
