West Sussex Estates Partnership, on behalf of NHS Property Services, appointed LST Projects to carry out landlord compliance works at Crawley Hospital’s Yellow Wing outpatients department.
The scheme involved a full internal strip-out, followed by the installation of new mechanical and electrical systems, suspended ceilings, flooring, doors, and redecoration — bringing the unit in line with current compliance and operational standards.
To maintain patient services throughout the programme, a temporary outpatient facility was created. This phased approach was carefully planned in collaboration with hospital teams to ensure continuity of care.
Environmental impact was reduced through a targeted waste management plan focused on recycling, reuse, and minimising landfill.
Carrying out construction within a live hospital environment required robust planning and strict control measures. The location of the works demanded that access routes for patients, hospital staff, and service providers remained clear and safe at all times. Infection control was of paramount importance, with rigorous site operating procedures implemented to maintain hygiene standards and ensure the safety of everyone on site.
This scheme builds on LST Projects’ established track record within the healthcare sector and reflects our ability to deliver high-quality refurbishment projects safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact on daily hospital operations.
